Bug Out Bags

After assembling a solid 72 hour kit and PSK, your next priority should be to assemble a Bug Out Bag for you and your family. What is a Bug Out Bag you ask? A Bug Out Bag (also known as a "BOB", "Bail Out Bag", "Get Out Of Dodge Bag" or "GOOD Bag", "Get Home Bag", and many other names) is a bag filled with things that will likely need should you need to leave home at a moments notice in the event of a disaster or emergency. You should keep it near your door so you can quickly grab it as you exit your home and drive to safety.

Bug Out Bags should build upon the basics of your PSK and perhaps even your 72 hour kit. While your 72 hour kit is primarily designed to sustain you during a crisis for 72 hours in your home, your Bug Out Bag is designed to help keep you sustained while on the move.

Bug Out Bags frequently contain iutems such as bottled water, snacks, changes of clothing (at a minimum, socks and underwear) medications that you take daily, flashlight, plastic bags, phone chargers, extra batteries, firearms, ammunition and much more.

Don't forget your children and your pets when you put together your Bug Out Bags! Diapers, games, pet food... whatever you need to sustain your little ones and furry friends!
