Survival Repair & Fabrication: Tips, Tools & Materials!

In a survival situation, you will not have access to most of the items that you are currently used to. Because of this, you will now have to improvise and fabricate items to fill many of these needs. You will also have to repair the items that you do have but break and you can no longer replace them. to do this, you will need a solid set of tools and materials.

Tools that could prove valuable in a survival situation:

Knives
Multitool
Machete
Collapsable Saw
Collapsable Shovel
Sewing Kit
Sharpening Stone and/or Pocket Sharpener
Flashlights
Caribiners
Hatchet/Axe
Pry Bar
Rivet Gun
Grommet Tools
Mini/Pocket Tool Set
Small Wire/Nylon Brush Set (Clean Firearms, etc.)
Syringe
Razor Blades
Utility Knife and Blades
Tweezers
Can Opener (P-51 Military Issue)
Combat & EMT Shears
Lock Picking Kit
Protective Gloves (tactical, mechanic, etc.)

Materials that could prove invaluable in a survival situation will include:

Paracord
Duck Tape
100 MPH Tape
Wire
Plastic Bags
Drum Liners
Fishing Line
Tire Inner Tubes
Surgical Tubing
Twine (Jute type. Great light-duty cordage and tinder for starting fires)
Various Containers (plastic, metal, etc.)

This is by no means a comprehensive list, but it is a good start. Please feel free to suggest any items I may have forgotten. It would not be practical to carry all of the items listed above, so you will have to choose which items would prove most valuable to you personally. Finding any of these items while scavenging would be a terrific find!
