The Importance of Sanitation In a Survival Situation!

Sanitation is even MORE important during a crisis. Today we are all spoiled by easy access to running water, soaps, hand santizers, flushing toilets and the likes. We take for granted how easy it is to bath, wash our hands, faces and bodies and... most of all, relief ourselves. We just push a little metal lever and our waste just magically disappears forever and we never have to concern ourselves over it.

But after TSHTF, all of those niceties could quicly disappear. Our waste won't just magically disappear anymore. And... after we do our business, it's not as easy to just lather up and rinse our germs down a hole in the center of a porcelain bowl. Those days are over. The reality of our waste and sanitation just got real, folks.

So how are we going to handle all of this waste now? And how are we going to clean ourselves up after we are done doing our business?

Simply not dealing with it is not an option. At least... not an option that bodes well for anyone. Not knowing how to properly deal with human waste when civilization breaks down will quickly make the world a dirty, smelly, disgusting and disease-ridden wasteland. Not only would this world become a super unpleasant to live in all the sudden, it would also quickly become a fairly deadly one as well.

Some of the ignorant among us may just decide to urinate and defacate in the local streams and rivers, selfishly making it the problem of everyone downstream of them. The only problem (besides you being a selfish jerk) with this plan is... someone may do the exact same thing upstream of you. Drinking contaminated water can cause terible, painful and life-threatening diseases like cholera, typhoid, shigella, polio, meningitis, hepatitis A and E and dysentery.
